Background
~ Following the success of their first venture together, The Capital Pub Company
PLC, entrepreneurs David Bruce and Clive Watson launched
The Capital Pub Company 2 PLC in January 2004.
Having raised over £15.4m. from 576 investors in The Capital Pub Company PLC,
corporate financiers Noble & Company agreed to sponsor The Capital Pub Company 2
PLC. Fundraising under the Enterprise Investment Scheme began in January 2004
and just over £16m. of equity was raised from 445 shareholders before the Offer
for Subscription closed on 22 March 2006.
Particularly gratifying is the fact that 29% of the equity raised is from 17% of
the shareholders who had already invested in the original Capital Pub Company.
The company is creating a new group of freehold, managed pubs in Greater London
which are non-branded and serve their local communities.
The company entered
into an introducer agreement whereby
The Capital Pub Company PLC has agreed to source potential acquisitions for the
company and a management contract with The
Capital Pub Company PLC whereby the pubs acquired by The Capital Pub Company
2 PLC are managed by The Capital Pub Company PLC.
The Capital Pub Company 2 PLC now owns nine freehold pubs in London.
